Wonderland: The Mad Hatter
Wonderland: The Mad Hatter
“Mad Hatter: “Why is a raven like a writing-desk?”
“Have you guessed the riddle yet?” the Hatter said, turning to Alice again.
“No, I give it up,” Alice replied: “What’s the answer?”
“I haven’t the slightest idea,” said the Hatter”
-Lewis Carroll,Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass
One of the most puzzling lines in the entire book that many have given different solutions to, but it was meant to be an unsolvable puzzle, or was it? Playing with words, logic conundrums and the illusions created by our language... what more can you ask from an adolescent children’s book? :-)
Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are very important and special to me. They colored my childhood with their whimsical magic, then! One day I found myself studying some of the logic riddles scattered throughout their amazing pages at University, during the Philosophy of language course I was taking. They often return to my thoughts and bring back fond memories of simpler times.
As a tribute and a heartfelt thank you for all of the wonders they bestowed upon me, I created this collection of 4 prints depicting my favourite characters of this fabulous world.
